Gaia Early Data Release 3 The astrometric solution

L. Lindegren et al.

Summary: Gaia EDR3 provides full astrometric data for 1.468 billion sources, including 585 million with five-parameter solutions and 882 million with six parameters, as well as mean positions at J2016.0 for an additional 344 million sources. Five-parameter solutions are generally more accurate and available for 93% of sources brighter than the 17th magnitude, with median uncertainties of 0.02-0.03 mas for parallax and proper motion at G = 9-14, and around 0.5 mas at G = 20. Extensive characterization of the solutions' statistical properties is provided, including the estimated angular power spectrum of parallax bias from quasars.

Constraining extra dimensions on cosmological scales with LISA future gravitational wave siren data

M. Corman et al.

Summary: The study suggests that late-time acceleration in the universe may result from gravitational leakage into extra dimensions rather than a non-zero cosmological constant. LISA has the potential to probe and constrain the phenomenon of gravitational leakage through observations of gravitational-wave merger events, providing insights into modified gravity models.

Snowmass2021-Letter of interest cosmology intertwined I: Perspectives for the next decade

Eleonora Di Valentino et al.

Summary: The ΛCDM cosmological model provides a great description of astrophysical and astronomical data, but there are still open questions that need to be addressed. Key issues include discrepancies between different cosmological probes, such as the Hubble constant H-0 value, sigma S-8(8) tension, and anomalies in the Planck results. Upgraded experiments and next-generation space missions will be crucial for addressing these questions in the coming decade.

Snowmass2021-Letter of interest cosmology intertwined II: The hubble constant tension

Eleonora Di Valentino et al.

Summary: Current cosmological probes have confirmed the standard A Cold Dark Matter cosmological model with unprecedented accuracy, but tensions between different independent cosmological datasets have emerged. These tensions may indicate issues with the standard cosmological scenario and the potential need for new physics.

The Influence of Metallicity on the Leavitt Law from Geometrical Distances of Milky Way and Magellanic Cloud Cepheids

Louise Breuval et al.

Summary: The Cepheid period-luminosity relation is crucial for measuring astronomical distances and establishing the extragalactic distance scale, with a strong dependence on Cepheid distance measurements for determining the local Hubble constant. Recent data releases and parallax measurements have improved the accuracy of the PL relation's slope and intercept, but the relationship's dependence on metallicity remains debated. Combining samples from the Milky Way, the Large Magellanic Cloud, and the Small Magellanic Cloud, researchers in this paper derive the metallicity term of the PL relation, providing insights into the relationship between metallicity and the intrinsic brightness of Cepheids.
