Evidence for the validity of a patient-based instrument for assessment of outcome after revision knee arthroplasty EVALUATION OF THE OXFORD KNEE SCORE USING A UK NATIONAL PROMS DATASET

S. A. Sabah et al.

Summary: The study concludes that the Oxford Knee Score (OKS) is a useful and valid instrument for assessing outcomes following revision knee arthroplasty. The OKS is responsive to change and demonstrates good measurement properties, without significant floor or ceiling effects.

Trajectories of pain and function in the first five years after total hip and knee arthroplasty AN ANALYSIS OF PATIENT REPORTED OUTCOME DATA FROM THE NATIONAL JOINT REGISTRY

J. R. Dainty et al.

Summary: This study investigated the trajectories of patient reported pain and functional disability over five years following total hip arthroplasty (THA) or total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The results showed that patient-reported outcome measures at six months postoperatively reliably predicted the class of five-year outcome trajectory for both pain and function. Baseline patient variables were weak predictors of pain trajectory and modest predictors of function trajectory.

cutpointr: Improved Estimation and Validation of Optimal Cutpoints in R

Christian Thiele et al.

Summary: The cutpointr package offers robust methods for estimating optimal cutpoints and out-of-sample performance, including bootstrapping and smoothing based on kernel estimation. It features capabilities for parallelization of bootstrapping, reproducible random number generation, and pipe-friendly compatibility with tidyverse functions.
