KTiOPO4: A long-life, high-rate and low-temperature-workable host for Na/K-ion batteries

Yuruo Qi et al.

Summary: The well-crystallized KTiOPO4 nanoparticles reported in this study demonstrate impressive electrochemical performance in Na/K-ion batteries, with high reversible capacities, superior rate capabilities, and outstanding cycling stability. The outstanding performance is attributed to the stable framework and highly reversible reactions during the Na+/K+ (de)insertion process, making the KTiOPO4 nanoparticles a promising candidate as Na/K-ion reservoirs.

Anionic Oxygen Redox in the High-Lithium Material Li8SnO6

Ningjing Luo et al.

Summary: This study used density functional theory calculations to investigate the relationship between oxygen release and peroxide/superoxide dimers in the lithiated transition metal oxide cathode Li8SnO6, which exhibits only oxygen-anion redox during delithiation. The research revealed the formation of various oxygen dimers during delithiation and highlighted the stable delithiated structure of Li8-xSnO6 due to solely anionic oxygen redox. Additionally, the study quantified the anionic oxygen redox mechanism in Li8SnO6, providing deeper insights into anionic oxygen redox in Li-excess oxide cathode materials.
