Systematic Approach to High Implantation of SAPIEN-3 Valve Achieves a Lower Rate of Conduction Abnormalities Including Pacemaker Implantation

Summary: The study analyzed determinants and mechanisms of paravalvular leakage (PVL) in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and tricuspid aortic valve (TAV) undergoing transfemoral TAVR using new-generation valves. Results showed that the incidence, circumferential distribution, predisposition sites, and predictors of PVL were similar in matched populations of BAV and TAV patients, indicating a common underlying mechanism of PVL in both entities.
