Development and evaluation of reparative tricalciumsilicate-ZrO2-Biosilicatecomposites

Marcela B. Queiroz et al.

Summary: The combination of Biosilicate with TCS + ZrO(2) showed appropriate setting time, radiopacity, solubility, alkaline pH, and antimicrobial activity. TCS and Biodentine demonstrated higher ALP activity in 14 days compared to the control group, and all cements were able to produce mineralized nodules.

Summary: The experimental results demonstrate that Biodentine (BD) and MTA-Angelus (MTA) exhibit good biocompatibility and osteoinductive activity, but they have different effects on inflammatory mediators and gene expression, which may be related to their affinities with the substrate and dental substrates.

Histomorphometric and immunohistochemical study shows that tricalcium silicate cement associated with zirconium oxide or niobium oxide is a promising material in the periodontal tissue repair of rat molars with perforated pulp chamber floors

D. D. Barbosa et al.

Summary: TCS + ZrO2 and TCS + Nb2O5 were associated with periodontium repair, allowing for the restoration of periodontal space width and collagen formation in uninfected perforations in rat maxillary molars. Compared to MTA, TCS + ZrO2 and TCS + Nb2O5 showed a faster recovery of injured tissues after 60 days.

Comparison of Bio-C Pulpo and MTA Repair HP with White MTA: effect on liver parameters and evaluation of biocompatibility and bioactivity in rats

Mateus Machado Delfino et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the tissue response and potential liver changes caused by Bio-C Pulpo, MTA Repair HP, and White MTA in a rat model. While all materials showed good biocompatibility and bioactivity, Bio-C Pulpo induced a greater inflammatory response compared to MTA-HP and WMTA over the experimental periods.

Investigation of a modified hydraulic calcium silicate-based material - Bio-C Pulpo

Lauter Eston Pelepenko et al.

Summary: The study evaluated a new hydraulic calcium silicate-based modified material and compared it with MTA Repair HP and MTA Angelus in terms of physicochemical, biological, and antimicrobial properties. Testing included color luminosity, color change, radiopacity, setting time, linear flow, volumetric filling, volume change, cytotoxicity, and microbiological assessment. MTA Repair HP showed faster setting time and highest cytocompatibility, while Bio-C Pulpo exhibited the highest alkalinity and cytotoxicity, with concerns over properties modification and calcium hydroxide deposition.
