Summary: The study evaluated the use of BMI cutoffs for determining eligibility for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and found that relying solely on BMI as a criterion for surgery may deny patients the opportunity for important clinical improvements. Therefore, shared decision-making and predictive tools should be considered to balance the potential benefits of TKA for obese patients with the increased risks and costs associated with complications.

However, modifiable comorbidities such as smoking, hypertension, and anemia have improved. Additionally, hospital length of stay and 30-day readmission rates decreased, while home discharge rates increased.

Summary: This study examined the impact of preoperative mental health on patient-reported outcomes and satisfaction after revision total knee arthroplasty. Patients with lower preoperative mental health scores had inferior outcomes and were at a higher risk of postoperative dissatisfaction. However, both groups showed comparable improvements in PROMS at 2 years.
