Facile synthesis of hollow F-doped SnO2 nanofibers and their efficiency in ethanol sensing

Summary: This paper presents the facile synthesis of hollow F-doped SnO2 nanofibers using SBS and their ethanol sensing performance for the first time. The as-prepared nanofibers, characterized by SEM, XRD, BET, FTIR, and EIS, exhibited mesoporous structure and showed fast high-responsive ethanol sensing behavior at room temperature due to the combination of nanocrystalline hollow structure and F doping. These results suggest that F-doped SnO2 hollow nanofibers are promising for practical low-temperature ethanol gas sensors.

Summary: Farm-to-table operations differ significantly from conventional corporate-scale agriculture in terms of production, transportation, and delivery, resulting in shorter time to deliver fresh produce to consumers and high expectations for freshness and quality. While resources are scarce for small farms and businesses to deploy quality monitoring sensors, this article analyzes chemical sensor technologies suitable for monitoring fruit quality in farm-to-table operations within power, cost, and size constraints.
