Effect of silane modified nano-SiO2 on the mechanical properties and compatibility of PBAT/lignin composite films

Xinhui Gu et al.

Summary: The study synthesized PBAT/SL composite films with great UV-blocking capability and photostability. Addition of SL improved UV-B blocking but reduced tensile strength, while addition of silane modified nano-SiO2 enhanced tensile properties and compatibility. These findings provide an innovative strategy for biodegradable PBAT/SL composites with remarkable UV-blocking ability and tensile strength.

Tribological properties of graphene oxide and polyethylene glycol composites under dry friction and oil lubrication conditions

Chengzhi Li et al.

Summary: This study prepared graphene oxide-polyethylene glycol (GO-PEG) composite film with good lubrication effect by gradient heating, and the film has broad application prospects in the low speed and heavy load of large machinery rotation or sliding parts. The addition of GO greatly enhances the mechanical properties of the composite films, reducing the friction coefficient by 50% and the wear rate by 85%.

Physical and mechanical properties of epoxy/Kota stone dust/fly ash hybrid composites for light duty structural applications

Virendra Rajput et al.

Summary: A novel hybrid composite utilizing Kota stone dust and fly ash as reinforcing phases in an epoxy matrix was developed and tested for physical and mechanical properties. The results showed that the hybrid composites exhibited better mechanical properties compared to single filler composites, although physical properties were slightly compromised by the hybridization of fillers.

An experimental investigation of epoxy-based hybrid composites with hexagonal boron nitride and short sisal fiber as reinforcement for high performance microelectronic applications

Alok Agrawal et al.

Summary: The study showed that incorporating hexagonal boron nitride and sisal fiber into epoxy resin composite can significantly improve thermal conductivity and slightly increase dielectric constant. Other properties such as compressive strength, hardness, glass-transition temperature, and coefficient of thermal expansion were also improved when ceramic filler and natural fiber combinations were introduced into the epoxy matrix.

Enhanced thermal conductivity and wear resistance of polytetrafluoroethylene via incorporating hexagonal boron nitride and alumina particles

Hong Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) and alumina particles (AO) are added to PTFE to improve its thermal conductivity while minimizing the loss in friction properties. The optimized filler ratio of 2:1 between h-BN and alumina significantly enhances the thermal conductivity of PTFE composites, while maintaining excellent dielectric and friction properties.
