Reversible waveform conversion between microwave and optical fields in a hybrid opto-electromechanical system*

Li-Guo Qin et al.

Summary: This study proposes a scheme for reversible waveform conversion between microwave and optical fields in a hybrid opto-electromechanical system, utilizing a nanomechanical resonator and double-optomechanically induced transparency. An analytical expression illustrates the one-to-one correspondence between the microwave field and the optical output field, while numerical simulations and approximate expressions demonstrate the conversion effects, efficiency, and bandwidth. This hybrid opto-electromechanical device has promising potential for electro-optic modulation and waveform conversion in optical communications and quantum networks.

Multiple induced transparency in a hybrid driven cavity optomechanical device with a two-level system*

Wei Zhang et al.

Summary: The study presents a scheme for generating multiple-induced transparency windows in a hybrid optomechanical device and analyzes the physical mechanism behind the induced transparency. The transmission of the probe field can be modulated by adjusting the coupling interaction between the qubit and NMR as well as the power of the control field.

Polychromatic Kerr nonlinearity within electromagnetically induced transparency window

Guang-Hui Wang et al.

Summary: The study focuses on nonlinear effects in a three-level atomic system in Lambda configuration. By confining two or more fields within a common EIT window, self-and cross-Kerr nonlinear interactions are established, suppressing linear absorption and allowing for polychromatic Kerr nonlinearity. This scheme is robust against atomic spontaneous emission and shows promise for generating squeezing and entanglement.

Enhancing cross-Kerr coupling via mechanical parametric amplification

Ling-Juan Feng et al.

Summary: The proposal significantly enhances the cross-Kerr coupling between the cavity and the mechanical oscillator by employing mechanical parametric amplification. This enhancement leads to improved photon-phonon blockade and phonon-number measurement with clear distinction between different phonon numbers. This alternative approach offers efficient quantum manipulation between photon and phonon.
