NiFe2O4/SiO2 nanostructures as a potential electrode material for high rated supercapacitors

Mutawara Mahmood Baig et al.

Summary: NiFe2O4/SiO2 nanostructure has been designed as a new electrode material for supercapacitors, showing remarkable performance in terms of electrochemical activity and longevity. The combination of sol-gel method and Stober method for growing NiFe2O4/SiO2 has led to higher electrochemical activity.

A α-Fe2O3/rGO magnetic photocatalyst: Enhanced photocatalytic performance regulated by magnetic field

Yuan Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a magnetic photocatalyst alpha-Fe2O3/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was developed to enhance photocatalytic efficiency under a magnetic field. The introduction of rGO improved the transfer of photogenerated carriers and the interface effect between alpha-Fe2O3 and rGO enhanced magnetization intensity. The alpha-Fe2O3/rGO composite photocatalyst demonstrated excellent photocatalytic performance, especially at a mass ratio of 10:1, and the magnetic field further improved the photocatalytic reaction.

Magnetodielectric behaviour of composites of NiO-SiO2 nanoglass and mesoporous silica SBA-15

Anupam Maity et al.

Summary: Nanocomposites with different glass compositions were synthesized using a sol-gel process, revealing the presence of Ni2+/Ni3+ ions through TEM and XPS studies. These materials exhibited ideal specific capacity and magnetodielectric parameters, making them suitable for manufacturing supercapacitor devices.

Remarkable microwave absorption of GO-SiO2/Fe3O4 via an effective design and optimized composition

Fatemeh Ebrahimi-Tazangi et al.

Summary: The design, synthesis, and characterization of GO-SiO2/Fe3O4 nanocomposite for microwave absorption were presented. The GO-SiO2/Fe3O4 (1:3) showed excellent microwave absorption performance with a minimum reflection loss of -72.79 dB at 15.87 GHz. The effective absorption bandwidth was 2.43 GHz (14.49-16.92 GHz), showing promising potential for microwave absorption applications.

Magnetic Nanoparticle Composites: Synergistic Effects and Applications

Stefanos Mourdikoudis et al.

Summary: Composite materials are formed by combining two or more materials with different properties to create a new material with unique characteristics. Nanocomposites consist of at least one material with nanoscale dimensions. The synergistic effects of combining different materials in nanocomposites lead to enhanced properties, benefiting applications such as magnetically separable catalysts and biomedicine.

Summary: The study demonstrates that defects in the SiO2 layer induce a change in the magneto resistance (MR) sign, resulting in an anomalous positive MR exceeding 17% at room temperature in heterostructures with a 19 nm thick magnetite layer at 80 kOe, while conventional negative MR response is obtained for thicker films.
