Stereoselective toxicity mechanism of neonicotinoid dinotefuran in honeybees: New perspective from a spatial metabolomics study

Summary: In this study, an integrated mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) and untargeted metabolomics method was used to investigate the metabolic regulation of honeybees in response to stereoisomeric dinotefuran pesticides. The results indicated that S-(+)-dinotefuran had higher toxicity than R-(-)-dinotefuran, affecting multiple metabolic pathways and energy metabolism in honeybees. The findings provide new perspectives for the development and applications of pure chiral agrochemicals.

Enantioselective metabolism of phenylpyrazole insecticides by rat liver microsomal CYP3A1, CYP2E1 and CYP2D2

Summary: This study investigated the enantioselective metabolism of chiral phenylpyrazole insecticides in rat liver microsomes, showing remarkable enantioselectivity for fipronil and ethiprole with EF values of 0.11-0.58 and no enantioselective metabolism for flufiprole with EF values of 0.49-0.51. Enzymatic assays revealed higher inhibition ratios of R-fipronil and S-ethiprole on CYP2E1 and CYP2D2 activity, leading to enantioselective metabolism. The results provided useful data for risk evaluation of chiral phenylpyrazole insecticides on ecological safety and human health.

Mass Spectrometry Imaging Shows Modafinil, A Student Study Drug, Changes the Lipid Composition of the Fly Brain
