Investigating Care Dependency and Its Relation to Outcome (ICARE): Results From a Naturalistic Study of an Intensive Day Treatment Program for Depression

Results suggest that higher levels of care dependency may lead to a less favorable outcome in depressive symptomatology. Summary: The study found that improvements in interpersonal skills and increases in friendly-dominant behavior were associated with changes in depressive symptoms, while reductions in dysfunctional metacognitive beliefs were not related to decreased depressive symptoms. Both CBASP and MCT treatment groups showed significant improvements in interpersonal and metacognitive skills, with no significant differences between the two groups.
