Optimization of plasma process parameters for surface modification of bamboo spunlace nonwoven fabric using glow discharge oxygen plasma

S. Manjula et al.

Summary: The study used Box-Behnken design to investigate the effect of optimization of plasma treatment on surface modification of bamboo spunlace nonwoven fabric. The process variables of glow discharge oxygen plasma treatment were analyzed for their impact on fabric characteristics, with the optimal conditions determined using Minitab software. The fabric exhibited improved air permeability, water vapor permeability, wicking, and elongation after plasma treatment, as confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis.

Response surface design of a thiol-ene polymer sealant to model adhesive strength

Benjamin Ruiz-Yi et al.

Summary: Modeling of the adhesive strength of a thiol-ene sealant was conducted using a response surface design of experiment, showing that the system has not been fully optimized. Trends in the data suggest that future experiments should focus on higher cure times and temperatures to maximize peel strength. Additionally, the resulting model equation can predict adhesive strengths near the studied conditions.
