Revisiting the random shift approach for testing in spatial statistics

Tomas Mrkvicka et al.

Summary: The paper examines the problem of testing independence of two components of a stationary bivariate spatial process, considering permutation strategies and highlighting the effectiveness of variance correction in the random shift method compared to torus correction. The study shows that variance correction reduces liberality and achieves the highest power among the investigated variants.
