Transcriptome analysis reveals TOR signalling-mediated plant flush shoots governing Diaphorina citri Kuwayama oviposition

S-H Guo et al.

Summary: This study reveals that feeding on flush shoots activates ovary development and induces oviposition in Asian Citrus Psyllid. Gene analysis of pest-infested flush shoots identified involvement of genes related to protein metabolism and hormone synthesis, activating reproduction processes. Silencing of the TOR pathway gene disrupted reproductive ability by affecting hormone levels and vitellogenin synthesis.
