Monometallic iron catalysts with synergistic Na and S for higher alcohols synthesis via CO2 hydrogenation

Ruwei Yao et al.

Summary: In this study, an iron catalyst co-modified with sodium and sulfur was proposed for direct hydrogenation of CO2 to higher alcohols, achieving high space-time yield with over 98% of C2+ alcohols. The synergistic effects of sodium and sulfur played a key role in providing matched molecularly adsorbed CO and alkyl species on the monometallic iron catalyst. Density functional theory modeling also supported the facile formation of alcohols on the Na and S co-modified iron catalyst.

Tuning interaction of surface-adsorbed species over Fe/K-Al2O3 modified with transition metals (Cu, Mn, V, Zn or Co) on light olefins production from CO2 hydrogenation

Nawapat Chaipraditgul et al.

Summary: The presence of transition metals in Fe/K-Al2O3 significantly influences the catalytic performance for CO2 hydrogenation to light olefins. The addition of Cu and Zn increases weakly adsorbed H atoms, resulting in high CO2 conversion and longer chain hydrocarbons. Adding Co enhances CO2 conversion but provides short chain hydrocarbons, while Mn or V inhibits CO hydrogenation and lowers CO2 conversion.

Catalytic Conversion of Carbon Dioxide to Methanol: Current Status and Future Perspective

Xinbao Zhang et al.

Summary: The conversion of CO2 to methanol through hydrogenation is a promising technology with potential for large-scale industrialization. Methanol serves as a platform molecule in the energy system and offers solutions for environmental problems caused by CO2 emissions. The development of new catalysts, routes, and technologies for CO2 conversion is crucial for the future direction of this field.

Design and Synthesis of Bioinspired ZnZrOx&Bio-ZSM-5 Integrated Nanocatalysts to Boost CO2 Hydrogenation to Light Olefins

Wen Li et al.

Summary: A novel synthetic strategy was proposed to prepare ZnZrOx&bio-ZSM-5 catalysts with high selectivity for C2-C4 light olefins, high catalytic stability, and reduced coke deposition. *CHxO was identified as the key intermediate for the conversion to light olefins on the ZnZrOx surface and subsequently on the Bronsted acid sites in bio-ZSM-5.

Effects of Proximity-Dependent Metal Migration on Bifunctional Composites Catalyzed Syngas to Olefins

Yi Ding et al.

Summary: The proximity between oxide and zeolite bifunctional catalysts plays a crucial role in syngas conversion to light olefins. The study shows that at the micrometer level, the reaction benefits from a shortened proximity with reduced mass transport limitations, while at the nanoscale level, interactions between different active sites can significantly alter their properties and performance.
