Power System Dispatch With Marginal Degradation Cost of Battery Storage

Summary: This paper examines the marginal degradation cost of batteries in power system dispatch, calculates the time-variant optimal marginal degradation cost to reflect the time value of money and battery functionality fade. It also demonstrates the evolution of the optimal marginal costs of degradation corresponding to the optimal long-term dispatch outcome, and shows that the optimal marginal cost of degradation is dependent on the marginal cost of generation in the grid.
