A Broadband Circularly Polarized Reflectarray With Magneto-Electric Dipole Elements

Summary: This study presents a broadband circularly polarized reflectarray operating at X-band, realizing broadband cophasal far-field radiation with asymmetric dual-polarized magneto-electric dipoles. The reflected prototype achieves high-purity circular polarization, with a peak gain of 25.4 dBic and peak aperture efficiency of 60%. The proposed element can be easily realized on a low-profile single-board substrate configuration, making it suitable for various applications including broadband satellite communications.
