Volumetric deformation and damage evolution of Tibet interbedded skarn under multistage constant-amplitude-cyclic loading

Chun Zhu et al.

Summary: Multistage constant-amplitude cyclic loading experiments were conducted on Tibet interbedded skarn to investigate the fatigue mechanical behavior of the rock. The results showed that the volumetric deformation and damage evolution of the skarn were influenced by the interbed structure. A new damage evolution model was proposed and different fracture mechanisms were identified through macroscopic failure morphology analysis.

Development and Application of the 3D Model Test System for Water and Mud Inrush of Water-Rich Fault Fracture Zone in Deep Tunnels

Yanhui Guo et al.

Summary: A set of three-dimensional physical model test systems has been developed to study water and mud inrush disasters in deep tunnel fault zones. The system uses self-developed similar materials for model tests and reveals changes in surrounding rock stress fields and seepage fields during tunnel excavation.

Measurement and prediction of tunnelling-induced ground settlement in karst region by using expanding deep learning method

Ning Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper presents the measurement and prediction of tunnelling-induced surface response in karst ground in Guangzhou, China. A predictive method called the expanding deep learning method is proposed, which uses expanding tunnelling data to predict ground settlement in real time. Results show that the expanding Conv1d model can accurately predict the tunnelling-induced ground settlement, and kinetic correlation analysis reflects the variable influence of geological conditions and tunnelling operation parameters on ground settlement.

Influence of Shear Displacement on Fluid Flow and Solute Transport in a 3D Rough Fracture

Zhi Dou et al.

Summary: The study investigated the influence of shear displacement on fluid flow and solute transport in fractured rocks. Shear displacement was found to significantly affect both fluid flow and solute transport, leading to a decrease in heterogeneity with decreasing shear displacement. Results also showed that the mobile-immobile model was more capable than the advection-dispersion equation model for characterizing the shear-induced anomalous behavior of the breakthrough curves (BTCs).
