Soil aggregate-mediated microbial responses to long-term warming

Summary: The study found that long-term soil warming did not reduce the physical protection of soil organic matter, but it did have an impact on the carbon and nitrogen concentrations and extracellular enzyme activity in the soil. Long-term warming had little effect on soil microbial carbon use efficiency or microbial biomass turnover time, as it reduced both growth and respiration, but carbon use efficiency was less temperature sensitive in macroaggregates from the warmed plots.
