A NOVEL PERMEABILITY MODEL IN DAMAGED TREE-LIKE BIFURCATING NETWORKS CONSIDERING THE INFLUENCE OF ROUGHNESS

Zhenjie Liu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel permeability model for fluid flow in damaged tree-like bifurcating networks. The study finds that permeability is influenced by the roughness level, length ratio, number of damaged tubes, and number of total bifurcating levels. Increasing roughness level, length ratio, number of damaged tubes, and total bifurcating levels decreases permeability, while increasing diameter ratio increases permeability. Moreover, the damaged position and the number of damaged tubes at the damaged position have a significant effect on permeability, as increasing the number of damaged tubes and bringing the damaged position close to the front end of the network reduces permeability.

A FRACTAL MODEL FOR CAPILLARY FLOW THROUGH A SINGLE TORTUOUS CAPILLARY WITH ROUGHENED SURFACES IN FIBROUS POROUS MEDIA

Boqi Xiao et al.

Summary: In this study, a fractal model for capillary flow through a single tortuous capillary with roughened surfaces in fibrous porous media was derived. The results of the model were found to be in agreement with existing models in the literature. It was observed that the imbibition height and mass of capillary rise decrease with increasing relative roughness, while the equilibrium time in the capillary decreases with increasing roughness. Additionally, the imbibition height and mass of capillary rise were found to increase with imbibition time.

Optimization of the shale gas reservoir fracture parameters based on the fully coupled gas flow and effective stress model

Diquan Li et al.

Summary: The study focused on the gas flow and effective stress model for a single well multi-stage hydraulic fracturing shale gas reservoir, analyzing the optimal fracture parameters. Through various theoretical models and simulations, the impact of fracture parameters on gas production was explored, with results showing the potential for optimizing fracture parameters to enhance production in different types of shale gas reservoirs.

Multi-scale modelling of gas transport and production evaluation in shale reservoir considering crisscrossing fractures

Marembo Micheal et al.

Summary: This study investigates the gas transport and production performance in shale formation with crisscrossing natural fractures using a multi-scale modelling approach. The research reveals that crisscrossing fractures can enhance gas transport efficiency from the shale matrix to wells. The comprehensive analysis of various parameters helps optimize the exploitation strategy for shale gas reservoirs, aiming to improve enhanced gas recovery.

A FRACTAL MODEL FOR PREDICTING OXYGEN EFFECTIVE DIFFUSIVITY OF POROUS MEDIA WITH ROUGH SURFACES UNDER DRY AND WET CONDITIONS

Boqi Xiao et al.

Summary: A novel fractal model for oxygen diffusion in porous media with rough surfaces under dry and wet conditions is proposed, showing that oxygen diffusivity is influenced by factors such as relative roughness, porosity, and water saturation. The model provides a better understanding of the physical mechanisms involved in oxygen diffusion through porous media with rough surfaces.
