Combined effects of octenylsuccination and beeswax on pullulan films: Water-resistant and mechanical properties

Maedeh Omar-Aziz et al.

Summary: The combination of OSA modification and BW incorporation was found to improve the water resistance properties of PU edible-films. However, the octenylsuccination of PU had a negative effect on the mechanical properties of the films, which was resolved by incorporating BW into the films. Overall, the modified PU films showed enhanced water-proof properties with improved homogeneity and reduced coalescence of BW droplets.

Synergistic effects of 1-MCP and hot air treatments on delaying softening and promoting anthocyanin biosynthesis in nectarines

Wanli Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that 1-MCP and 1-MCP+HA treatments help maintain the firmness and cell wall integrity of nectarines, while reducing the activity of cell wall-degrading enzymes. On the other hand, HA and 1-MCP+HA treatments can stimulate anthocyanin accumulation and accelerate flesh reddening.
