Ti3C2-MXene composite films functionalized with polypyrrole and ionic liquid-based microemulsion particles for supercapacitor applications

Qi Fan et al.

Summary: A novel strategy utilizing polymerized polypyrrole (PPy) particles and ionic liquid (ILs)-based microemulsion particles as dual spacers is developed to fabricate functionalized Ti3C2-MXene composite films for high-performance supercapacitors. The PPy particles circumvent restacking issues of MXene nanosheets and contribute to desirable capacitance, while ILs-based microemulsions improve fast ion diffusion kinetics and electrolyte imbibition steps, resulting in excellent specific capacitance, rate capability, and cycling stability. The composite films show great potential in advanced MXene-based supercapacitors using various ionic liquid electrolytes, achieving high energy density and maintaining high coulombic efficiency after 2000 cycles.

A highly-sensitive and selective antibody-like sensor based on molecularly imprinted poly(L-arginine) on COOH-MWCNTs for electrochemical recognition and detection of deoxynivalenol

Weiqiang Li et al.

Summary: A new strategy for electrochemical recognition and detection of deoxynivalenol (DON) was proposed using a highly-sensitive and selective antibody-like sensor based on molecularly imprinted poly(L-arginine) (P-Arg-MIP) on carboxylic acid functionalized carbon nanotubes (COOH-MWCNTs). The sensor displayed high conductivity, effective surface area, antibody-like molecular recognition and affinity, and good response towards DON. This method provides a promising biomimetic sensing platform for the determination of mycotoxins in food and agro-products.

High-valence Mo(VI) derived from in-situ oxidized MoS2 nanosheets enables enhanced electrochemical responses for nitrite measurements

Hao Lin Zou et al.

Summary: Semiconducting MoS2 is oxidized via electrochemical processes, forming high-valence Mo(VI) which exhibits comparable performance to nitrite oxidation for sensor construction. Enhanced sensing responses are achieved through signal amplification mechanism due to the strong coupling effect of Mo(VI) to nitrite. Measurement parameters such as pH, scan rates, and modification conditions are discussed for optimizing sensing performance, with satisfactory linear relationship and a detection limit established.
