Solubility of DNP-amino acids and their partitioning in biodegradable ATPS: Experimental and ePC-SAFT modeling

Kamila Wysoczanska et al.

Summary: This work investigates the behavior of DNP-AA in aqueous solutions through experimental determination of properties such as liquid densities and pH-dependent solubility data. The ePC-SAFT thermodynamic model is applied to predict properties and partition coefficients of DNP-AA in ATPS systems, showing good agreement with experimental results and demonstrating the suitability of ePC-SAFT for such systems. Adjusting binary parameters between charged DNP-AA(-) and phase-forming species allows for accurate modeling of DNP-AA partition coefficients in various ATPS compositions.

Extending the SAFT-γ Mie approach to model benzoic acid, diphenylamine, and mefenamic acid: Solubility prediction and experimental measurement

Sara A. Febra et al.

Summary: The study extends the group contribution model of the SAFT-gamma Mie equation to predict the phase behavior and solubility of mefenamic acid, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, in various solvents, considering its molecular synthons. New experimental data and interactions of new functional groups were characterized to assess transferability and predictive accuracy of the models.

Industrial Requirements for Thermodynamic and Transport Properties: 2020

Georgios M. Kontogeorgis et al.

Summary: This study conducted an investigation on industrial requirements for thermodynamic and transport properties from 2019 to 2020, aiming to identify advancements, limitations, and future research directions in this area over the past decade. The survey gathered comprehensive responses from 37 companies, mostly in Europe but also from the USA and Japan, with a response rate of about 60%. The paper presents a thematic structure of the results, covering changes, challenges, and further needs in various aspects of interest such as data, models, systems, properties, and computational aspects.
