Indicators of body size variability in a highly developed small-scale fishery: Ecological and management implications

Alexandre Alonso-Fernandez et al.

Summary: The study reveals that body size is negatively related to the number of individuals caught per haul in the small-scale fishery of Galicia. Bathymetry and species-specific depth affinities also play a part in influencing individual body size variation. The trends in body size vary geographically, with different environmental conditions and fishing dynamics in the north versus the south affecting body size changes.
