Hydrazine clubbed 1,3-thiazoles as potent urease inhibitors: design, synthesis and molecular docking studies

Summary: A novel series of hydrazine clubbed 1,3-thiazoles were synthesized in good yields and their structural confirmation was based on spectroscopic techniques. These compounds exhibited strong urease inhibition activity, with IC50 values higher than the standard thiourea. Docking results at the active sites of the urease enzyme confirmed the in vitro biological activity results.

Novel (thio)barbituric-phenoxy-N-phenylacetamide derivatives as potent urease inhibitors: synthesis,in vitrourease inhibition, andin silicoevaluations

Summary: A novel series of (thio)barbituric-phenoxy-N-phenylacetamide derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory activity against Helicobacter pylori urease, showing higher potency than standard inhibitors. Docking and molecular dynamics studies demonstrated good binding of the synthesized compounds to the urease active site, with the most potent compound creating important interactions with specific residues. In silico pharmacokinetic study predicted drug-like properties for all synthesized compounds.

Synthesis and urease inhibition studies of some new quinazolinones

Summary: Novel quinazolinones were designed, synthesized, and characterized in this study, with their inhibitory activities on urease assessed. The compounds showed potent urease inhibitory activities, with 2-benzyl-3-({5-[(4-nitrophenyl)amino]-1,3,4-thiadiazol2-yl}methyl)quinazolin-4(3H)-one exhibiting the best inhibitory effect.

Design, synthesis, and evaluation of metronidazole-1,2,3-triazole derivatives as potent urease inhibitors

Summary: A new series of metronidazole-1,2,3-triazole derivatives were synthesized and evaluated as Helicobacter pylori urease inhibitors, with compound 6f showing the most potent inhibitory activity. Compound 6f inhibited urease in an uncompetitive mode, pointing towards the bi-nickel center and stabilized by specific interactions with critical residues in the active site cavity. The compound proposed to inhibit urease activity by stabilizing the active site flap.
