A model for characterizing dry soil aggregate size distribution

Summary: The study proposed a new model that combines power-law and exponential distributions to characterize dry soil aggregate size distribution (DASD). By analyzing 253 DASD data from five countries, it was found that the new model outperformed other existing models in describing the observed DASD data across different soil texture, land use, and sieving cuttings. The patterns of DASD played a crucial role in determining the goodness of fit of the models, with the new model showing the best performance in capturing the distribution patterns.
