Pulsed laser-assisted synthesis of metal and nonmetal-codoped ZnO for efficient photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B under solar light irradiation

Shreyanka Shankar Naik et al.

Summary: In this study, solar light-active ZnO:N/Ag nanocomposites were successfully fabricated and characterized. The optimized ZnO:N/Ag-2 nanocomposite showed efficient photocatalytic degradation of Rh.B under sunlight. Effective charge separation was achieved through the formation of a Schottky junction, and the presence of O-2(-) radicals contributed to the degradation of Rh.B.

Lignin-mediated green synthesis of functionalized gold nanoparticles via pulsed laser technique for selective colorimetric detection of lead ions in aqueous media

Yiseul Yu et al.

Summary: A versatile green synthesis technique utilizing pulsed laser irradiation and the sonochemical process was used to produce functionalized gold nanoparticles in the presence of lignin matrixes. The resulting lignin functionalized Au NPs were characterized and showed a selective colorimetric sensing tendency toward Pb2+ ions, indicating their potential as effective sensors for rapid and selective detection of Pb2+ ions in real environmental samples.

Enhanced photocatalytic activity at multidimensional interface of 1D-Bi2S3@2D-GO/3D-BiOI ternary nanocomposites for tetracycline degradation under visible-light

Malathi Arumugam et al.

Summary: Structural dimensionality and surface morphology greatly influence material functionalities. In this study, dimensionally coupled ternary nanocomposites were synthesized using 3D bismuth oxyiodide, 2D graphene oxide, and 1D bismuth sulfide for tetracycline degradation under visible-light irradiation. The combination of dimensionally coupled composites showed enhanced photocatalytic performance through efficient charge transfer processes.
