Tunable Fe3O4 nanoparticles assembled porous microspheres as catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis to lower olefins

Qiao Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, Fe3O4 bulk catalysts assembled from nanoparticles were synthesized to investigate the size effect of Fe phase. The results show that when the particle size is smaller than 10 nm, the catalysts exhibit similar catalytic activity, while beyond 10 nm, the activity decreases significantly. Particularly, Fe3O4 with a nanoparticle size of 9.9 nm shows the highest activity, selectivity and ratio. Smaller particles contribute to C5+ formation while inhibiting CH4 selectivity.

Highly active and controllable MOF-derived carbon nanosheets supported iron catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

Qiao Zhao et al.

Summary: N-doped carbon nanosheets synthesized from ZIF-8 templates exhibit superior graphitization degree and electronic effect, providing wider possibilities for catalytic applications. By utilizing a combination of characterization techniques, the promotion effect of CNS on dispersion, electronic properties and formation of Fe carbides in FTS catalysts is elucidated.
