Experimental study on the effect of diluent gas on H2/CO/air mixture turbulent premixed flame

Guo-Peng Zhang et al.

Summary: The study examines the effects of different diluents on the propagation characteristics of H2/CO/air mixture turbulent premixed flames. Increasing hydrogen fraction, turbulence intensity, or equivalence ratio leads to higher ST and ut. CO2 dilution shows a stronger inhibitory effect on ST compared to N2 dilution.

The critical lower radius limit approach for laminar flame speed measurement from spherically expanding stretched flames

Berk Can Duva et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effect of lower radius limits on extrapolation results of stretch models for spherically expanding flames, identifying a critical lower radius limit (R-L,R-critical) that converges laminar flame speed and burned gas Markstein length values. The critical lower radius limit strongly depends on the burned gas Markstein number (Ma(b)), with a correlation shown as |Ma(b)| = 0.8424*R-L,R-critical. This approach was used to correct laminar flame speeds and burned gas Markstein lengths for methane, hydrogen, propane, and iso-octane flames, resulting in comparisons with previously published experimental data.

Mutually interacting SNG-air premixed flames

Yeonse Kang et al.

Summary: Experimental and numerical studies showed that the UCSD reaction mechanism could accurately trace the characteristics of SNG-air premixed flames, and that the flame stability map is dependent on methane mole fractions and global strain rate. Increasing global strain rate gradually tilts the lean and rich extinction boundaries, leading to the formation of a flammable region island and eventually only one flammable condition.

On explosion characteristics of premixed syngas/air mixtures with different hydrogen volume fractions and ignition positions

Zhifeng Yao et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of ignition position and hydrogen volume fraction on flame propagation structure and overpressure wave. Experimental results show that ignition position and hydrogen volume fraction have significant effects on overpressure, the structure, and development of the flame front.

Effects of CH4 mixing on the laminar burning velocity and Markstein length of RP-3/air premixed flame

Yu Liu et al.

Summary: Experiments investigated the effects of initial temperature, pressure, and CH4 mixing ratio on the laminar burning velocity and structure of CH4/RP-3/air mixture. Results showed that increased initial pressure led to cellular structures in flames, while maximum laminar burning velocity was observed in slightly rich mixtures. Increasing initial temperature and decreasing pressure contributed to higher peak laminar burning velocity.

Economic analysis of hydrogen-powered data center

Yongliang Xie et al.

Summary: According to the economic analysis, hydrogen-powered data centers are more economically feasible when the price of hydrogen is low and the distance from the data center to the hydrogen source is short. Large-scale hydrogen-powered data centers are more likely to be economically viable. Solar hydrogen-powered data centers have entered a critical stage in terms of economic feasibility.
