Nanostructured Broadband Solar Absorber for Effective Photothermal Conversion and Electricity Generation

Development of CuO nanoporous material as a highly efficient optoelectronic device

Summary: A large-scale single-crystalline CuO nanoporous material was prepared on the surface of a Cu sheet via a simple thermal decomposition method. The material exhibited a homogeneous porous CuO structure over the Cu metal surface, forming separate island-like parts with small inter-distance and highly porous surfaces. The prepared Cu/CuO optoelectronic photodetector showed efficient light detection under different intensities or wavelengths, with high responsivity and detectivity, as well as fast response and recovery times.
