Plant-soil feedbacks help explain biodiversity-productivity relationships

However, a 4-year field experiment showed that while PSFs can lead to significant changes in plant biomass, they had little impact on model predictions of plant community biomass. Even with strong PSFs, the dominant species displayed minimal effects, suggesting a selective pressure for plants to create neutral PSFs.
