Potential geographical distribution and habitat shift of the genus Ammopiptanthus in China under current and future climate change based on the MaxEnt model

Zhongyu Du et al.

Summary: Ammopiptanthus is an endangered species in China, mainly found in the arid and semi-arid areas of northwest China. The study predicts the potential geographic habitat range of the genus under different greenhouse gas emission scenarios, showing changes in suitable habitat areas. It is recommended to establish nature reserves to protect their habitat.

Improvements in reports of species redistribution under climate change are required

Shirin Taheri et al.

Summary: The study found that only a small percentage of reports compared distributional shifts across different directions, a very small percentage distinguished observed patterns from random expectations, and a portion examined multiple causal factors. However, the majority of studies provided sufficient data and results for replication.

Aboveground biomass and its spatial distribution pattern of herbaceous marsh vegetation in China

Xiangjin Shen et al.

Summary: Herbaceous marsh is a widely distributed wetland ecosystem with important ecological functions like water conservation and climate regulation. Investigating the biomass of marsh vegetation can provide a scientific basis for estimating the carbon storage and sequestration capacity of marshes, which play a key role in reducing climate warming.
