Long-term impact of legume-based cropping with chemical and integrated fertilisation on viable weed seed density, diversity and community structure

Chaitanya P. Nath et al.

Summary: Research has shown that certain weed seeds in the maize-wheat rotation system have higher dominance in the soil, while planting legume-based crops provides greater weed species diversity compared to the maize-wheat rotation. Integrated nutrient management with appropriate inorganic fertilizers can increase the ecological dominance of certain important weed seeds.
