Effect of Gold(I) on the Room-Temperature Phosphorescence of Ethynylphenanthrene

Araceli de Aquino et al.

Summary: The synthesis of two series of gold(I) complexes with different alkynyl substituent positions on the phenanthrene chromophore has been achieved, showing that the L2 series exhibits better luminescent properties in terms of emission intensity, quantum yields, and RTP effect. Additionally, the inclusion of all compounds in organic matrixes enhances the observed RTP, but only the L2 series completely suppresses fluorescence, resulting in pure phosphorescent materials.

Gold(I)-doped films: new routes for efficient room temperature phosphorescent materials

Araceli de Aquino et al.

Summary: The synthesis of four novel gold(I)-phosphane complexes coordinated to 9-phenanthrene chromophore was successfully achieved. The X-ray crystal structures of the compounds revealed different intermolecular assemblies and aurophilic interactions. Photophysical characterization showed distinct emission properties in solid films compared to solution samples.

Triphenylamine/benzothiadiazole-based compounds for non-doped orange and red fluorescent OLEDs with high efficiencies and low efficiency roll-off

Di Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, four novel donor-acceptor compounds were designed and synthesized for non-doped OLEDs, showing excellent performance in terms of maximum luminance, current efficiency, and maximum EQE. The use of BT and TPA-based D-A architectures proved to be effective in obtaining outstanding orange and red emitters.

Benzothiadiazole-based photosensitizers for efficient and stable dye-sensitized solar cells and 8.7% efficiency semi-transparent mini-modules

Summary: The study focuses on the synthesis and structure-properties relationships of five benzothiadiazole-based organic dyes for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells. The compounds exhibit good Power Conversion Efficiencies ranging from 7.0% to 9.8%, with a combination of two leading to a PCE of up to 10.9% utilizing an iodine-based liquid electrolyte. Improved performance is linked to better light absorption and passivation of the TiO2 surface with a cocktail of dyes.
