Highly Luminescent and Stable Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Films for Transparent Luminescent Solar Concentrators

Summary: In this study, a highly luminescent, stable, and visible-transparent organic-inorganic hybrid film was synthesized through a sol-gel process. The film showed improved photostability and UV resistance, making it a promising candidate for various photonic applications. By integrating the hybrid film onto an acrylic substrate, a transparent luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) was fabricated with high optical conversion efficiency.

Synthesis and photophysical properties of ternary β-diketonate europium (III) complexes incorporating bipyridine and its derivatives

Summary: Three new europium(III) complexes have been synthesized and characterized, with the phenyl-ethynyl-bipyridine ligand showing impressive performance in red organic light emitting diodes. The contribution of each ligand to the sensitized Eu(III) photoluminescence has been analyzed. An energy transfer mechanism for the sensitized Eu(III) emission has been proposed and discussed using experimental and theoretical data.

Preparation and photoluminescent behaviors of bipyrimidine bridged dinuclear Eu (III) complexes and their PMMA polymer films

Summary: Four bipyrimidine bridged dinuclear Eu (III) complexes of fluorinated beta-diketones were synthesized and investigated for their photoluminescence behaviors in solution, solid powder state and PMMA films. The results showed strong characteristic emissions and highly monochromatic red emissions in both the complexes and their PMMA films. The photoluminescence behaviors of the complexes were significantly improved in the PMMA films, with increased luminescent lifetimes and quantum efficiencies.

A facile approach for the creation of heteroionic lanthanidomesogens-containing uniform films with enhanced luminescence efficiency

Summary: Adducts of Eu(III), Tb(III), Gd(III) and La(III) tris(beta-diketonate) were synthesized to form mesophases, which can produce optically isotropic, self-organizing smectic films on cooling. The luminescence intensity per mole of the emitting substance in films obtained from mixtures of Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes increases about three fold compared to the individual Eu(III) complex, attributed to effective energy transfer between Tb(III) and Eu(III) complexes. This study presents an efficient approach for creating novel lanthanide-containing materials with effective luminescence and controlled spectral properties.

The role played by structural and energy parameters of ?-Diketones derivatives as antenna ligands in Eu(III) complexes

Summary: These complexes exhibit different coordination numbers, with Tb-9 and Eu-10 complexes showing characteristic bands predicted from Tb(III) and Eu(III) ions in the solid-state luminescence spectra. The Overall Quantum Yield measured at the excitation wavelength of 371 nm yielded 1.04% for 9 and up to 34.56% for 10.

A tris β-diketonate europium(III) complex based OLED fabricated by thermal evaporation method displaying efficient bright red emission

Summary: A new tris beta-diketonate europium(III) complex, Eu-1, has been synthesized and characterized for its potential application in OLEDs. The complex showed highly efficient energy transfer rates and a proposed energy transfer mechanism. When used as the emitting layer in OLEDs, Eu-1 exhibited a bright red emission with high brightness, current efficiency, power efficiency, and external quantum efficiency under optimal conditions.
