Regulating cations and solvents of the electrolyte for ultra-efficient electrochemical production of high-quality graphene

Yuan Zhang et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel cathodic exfoliation method using diverse tetraalkylammonium cations in various non-aqueous solvents for efficient preparation of high-quality graphene. The sandwich-structured graphite electrode allows for sufficient ion intercalation and uniform exfoliation into few-layer graphene with remarkable yield and low defect density. The electrolyte cation and solvent play key roles in intercalation efficiency and exfoliation ability, leading to the potential mass production of high-quality graphene.

Hydrogen gas sensing properties of microwave-assisted 2D Hybrid Pd/rGO: Effect of temperature, humidity and UV illumination

Hanie Hashtroudi et al.

Summary: A novel microwave assisted 2D hybrid material based on rGO doped with Pd nanoparticles was synthesized for investigating its hydrogen sensing performance. The material characterization confirmed uniform distribution of Pd NPs on the porous structure of rGO nanosheets, and the fundamental hydrogen sensing mechanism as well as recovery enhancement by UV light were studied. This work offers an environmentally friendly synthesis approach for hydrogen sensing with excellent control over experimental parameters, which can lead to the fabrication of a highly selective and sensitive hydrogen sensor.

Realizing the large current field emission characteristics of single vertical few-layer graphene by constructing a lateral graphite heat dissipation interface

Shuai Tang et al.

Summary: The study focused on enhancing the heat dissipation of few-layer graphene (FLG) by introducing a graphite interlayer between FLG and a tungsten substrate. This approach effectively reduced the temperature and the risk of vacuum breakdown, resulting in improved high-current field emission characteristics of single FLG samples.
