Advancing skin delivery of α-tocopherol and γ-tocotrienol for dermatitis treatment via nanotechnology and microwave technology

Summary: The study investigated a combination of nanocarrier and microwave system for delivering alpha-tocopherol and gamma-tocotrienol against dermatitis without the thinning effect of steroids. By formulating vitamin E into water-rich/water-poor nanoemulsions and pre-treating the skin with precision microwave, the research found that the approach promoted therapeutic accumulation in the skin epidermis, leading to an alleviation of dermatitis without the skin thinning effect. The combination of microwave and nanotechnology offers a promising strategy for enhancing vitamin delivery and improving dermatitis treatment outcomes.

Nd3+ doped TiO2 nanocrystals as self-referenced optical nanothermometer operating within the biological windows

Summary: A potential optical nanothermometer based on Nd3+ doped TiO2 nanocrystals with high thermal resolution and relative thermal sensitivity operating within the biological windows is reported. It was found that TiO2 nanocrystals doped with 10 wt% of Nd3+ ions and associated with the brookite phase exhibit the highest luminescence emission and relative thermal sensitivity among the samples investigated.
