An innovative interface reinforcement method for steel bridge deck pavement pothole repair

Leilei Chen et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an interface reinforcement method for steel bridge deck pavement potholes, considering the mechanical response characteristics. Through finite element models, the effectiveness of the method is clarified. Results show that the innovative approach using non-woven fabric layer and ultra-thin asphalt overlay can significantly reduce horizontal tensile stress in the pothole interface, while enhancing cracking resistance.
