Modelling distracted agents in crowd simulations

Melissa Kremer et al.

Summary: Multi-agent simulations are useful for predictive planning and analysis of pedestrian movement in arbitrary environments. This study explores distracted behaviors, such as walking and texting, and demonstrates that even accounting for a few of these behaviors significantly alters the flow patterns of simulated agents, impacting crowd behavior and statistics.
