The nature of the Sulfur-Metallic bonds (Metal = Ni, Pd and Pt) in doped gold nanoclusters: A density functional approach

Summary: Atomically precise gold nanoparticles with single guest atom doped gold cores protected by ligands have attracted attention in biology, chemistry, and physics. This study investigated metallic alloy-H2S complexes to model core-ligand interactions, specifically focusing on platinum group doped gold dimers and triangular trimers. Simulation results showed differences in interactions between gold and platinum group metals, with the donor-acceptor model proposed to explain sulfur-metal bonds.
