A quasi-superhydrophobic surface with high water contact angle and high adhesion has been prepared via electrospraying, showing remarkable durability and environmentally friendly characteristics. This method holds great potential in various applications such as self-cleaning, oil-water separation, and protective suits.
The preparation of superhydrophobic polyurethane ?by fluorination poses a potential threat to the environment. Herein, we introduce a quasi-superhydrophobic surface with high water contact angle (CA) and high adhesion via eletrospraying. By regulation of concentration, voltage or flow velocity, various structures such as round cakes, microspheres and micro-spindles can be facilely fabricated. Also, the impact of these parameters on the CA is systematically analyzed. Furthermore, the obtained surface with the optimized preparation parameters exhibits a high contact angle, and the maximum value can reach 145?degrees, along with remarkable durability. Because of non-toxic addition, this method embodies the peculiarity of environment-friendly. Hence, it is highly promising that this quasi-superhydrophobic polyurethane via electrospraying will possess a broad application prospect, such as self-cleaning, oil-water separation, protective suit and so on.
