Synergistic preparation of modified alginate aerogel with melamine/chitosan for efficiently selective adsorption of lead ions

Summary: A new aerogel with superior mechanical properties, high adsorption capacity, and excellent regeneration property has been developed for heavy metal removal from water. The alginate/melamine/chitosan aerogel efficiently extracts Pb(II) from aqueous solution, showing excellent and selective adsorption capacity, and can be regenerated using dilute acidic solution.
