Insights into lead removal in water using a novel carbonized material derived from the by-product of oil refining: action mechanism and performance optimization

Dongjin Wan et al.

Summary: The study focused on using solid by-products of oil refining to produce an environmentally-friendly adsorbent for lead (II) removal. It was found that the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent was significantly increased after pyrolysis, with better fitting kinetic models for lead (II) adsorption. The re-utilization ability of the adsorbent was also highlighted, making it an economical and efficient option for pollution control.
