Fatal outcome of anti-MDA5 juvenile dermatomyositis in a paediatric COVID-19 patient: a case report

Summary: An 11-year-old girl with anti-MDA5 JDM and RP-ILD had a fatal outcome due to aggravation by SARS-CoV-2 infection. Despite aggressive treatment, the patient did not respond and developed refractory septic shock leading to death. Patients with anti-MDA5 JDM and RP-ILD have a poor prognosis with a high mortality rate.
