Linear Time-Invariant Model Identification Algorithm for Mechatronic Systems Based on MIMO Frequency Response Data

Hessam Kalbasi Shirvani et al.

Summary: This article introduces a new frequency-domain multi-input multioutput linear time-invariant (LTI) system identification algorithm for accurate model construction in motion control systems. The algorithm can effectively capture the impact of time-delay, lightly damped poles, highly damped complex or real poles, and direct or derivative-like terms. Experimental tests using frequency response measurements from different motion control mechanisms prove the effectiveness of this algorithm, demonstrating a significantly improved model prediction accuracy compared to tfest and modalfit functions in MATLAB.
