Clinical outcome after surgical aortic valve replacement in low-risk Japanese patients with severe aortic stenosis

Summary: Two randomized control trials showed that transcatheter aortic valve implantation had comparable or superior clinical outcomes to surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) in low surgical risk patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) at 1-2 years. This study found that the clinical outcomes of SAVR in low surgical risk patients with severe AS in Japan were favorable and comparable to those in other countries.
