g-C6N6 monolayer: A highly sensitive molecule sensor for biomarker volatiles of liver cirrhosis

W. X. Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the adsorption behavior of liver cirrhosis biomarkers on g-C6N6 using density functional theory, suggesting the potential application of g-C6N6 as an optical gas sensor for detecting liver cirrhosis biomarkers. The adsorption and desorption behaviors of biomarker volatiles can be easily regulated through strain and electric field, allowing for reversible detection of liver cirrhosis. Additionally, the optical properties of g-C6N6 change significantly after adsorption of the biomarkers, indicating a good response to liver cirrhosis biomarkers.

Theoretical Study on Tuning Band Gap and Electronic Properties of Atomically Thin Nanostructured MoS2/Metal Cluster Heterostructures

Saju Joseph et al.

Summary: Nano-heterostructures consisting of MoS2 clusters with silver and gold nanoparticles can tune the electronic band gap for applications in flexible nanoelectronics and nanophotonics. The adsorption of H-2 molecules on these heterostructures was also investigated, showing desirable binding energies. Theoretical results provide inspiration for engineering optoelectronic applications in nanostructured MoS2-based heterostructures.
