Tri-band high-efficiency circular polarization convertor based on double-split-ring resonator structures

Yongzhi Cheng et al.

Summary: This paper introduces an effective design of a tri-band high-efficiency circular polarization convertor based on DSRR structures in the microwave region. The numerical simulation results show that the proposed CP convertor can achieve high efficiency and conversion ratios, with over 90% efficiency at three different resonance frequencies. The excellent tri-band CP properties have potential applications in fields such as remote sensing, radar, and satellite communication.

Investigation of a dual-hole structure-based broadband femtosecond nondiffracting SPP beam emitter by photoemission electron microscopy

Hanmin Hu et al.

Summary: A novel femtosecond nondiffracting surface plasmon polariton (SPP) beam emitter based on a dual-hole structure has been demonstrated and characterized using photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM). The two-color PEEM scheme offers a clear image of the nondiffracting SPP and experimentally determines the beam parameters, which are well reproduced by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. This work is important for further studying the high spatial and temporal characterization of the dynamic evolution of nondiffracting SPP beam.

Mode splitting and multiple-wavelength managements of surface plasmon polaritons in coupled cavities

Ping-Bo Fu et al.

Summary: This study investigates coupled cavities in metal-insulator-metal bus waveguides through finite difference time domain method and coupled-mode theory. The resonant modes of surface plasmon polaritons split with decreasing thickness of the middle baffle. By adjusting the coupling strength, the resonant wavelength of the positive coupling mode can be tuned, allowing for control of SPPs propagation. This has significant implications for designing more compact optical devices.

Surface plasmon polaritons frequency-blue shift in low confinement factor excitation region*

Ling-Xi Hu et al.

Summary: In the FDTD simulation, a frequency blue shift of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) is observed under parallel electron excitation. The higher the SPPs' frequency in a low confinement region, the higher the excitation efficiency, and the attenuation signal provides broadband frequency information.

Ultrafast spatiotemporal control of directional launching of surface plasmon polaritons in a plasmonic nano coupler

Yulu Qin et al.

Summary: The study achieved ultrafast spatiotemporal control of the launch direction of SPP through a plasmonic nano directional coupler; experimental results showed that the extinction ratio of the SPP directional coupler can be optimized by adjusting the amplitude and time delay of the incident light pulses; by adjusting the polarization state of the excitation light, the launch direction of the SPP field can be switched on the femtosecond timescale.

Mapping Trap Dynamics in a CsPbBr3 Single-Crystal Microplate by Ultrafast Photoemission Electron Microscopy

Wei Liu et al.

Summary: For versatile lead-halide perovskite materials, trap states in both bulk and surface significantly affect optoelectronic behaviors and performance. Utilizing femtosecond pump-probe technique combined with PEEM, shallow and deep trap states were identified within a CsPbBr3 single-crystal microplate. The study revealed a high-defect tolerance to shallow traps within the microplate, while surface dynamics were dominated by deep traps. The ultrafast PEEM provided insights into fast electron transfer and accumulation of surface trap states, highlighting the importance of surface optimization for excellent electronic properties of perovskite materials.
