Nanocatalytic Theranostics with Glutathione Depletion and Enhanced Reactive Oxygen Species Generation for Efficient Cancer Therapy

Lian-Hua Fu et al.

Summary: Chemodynamic therapy (CDT) is a promising method for killing cancer cells by converting intracellular hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into highly toxic hydroxyl radicals ((OH)-O-center dot). An intelligent nanocatalytic theranostics, PGC-DOX, was developed to address the limitations of endogenous H2O2 and high GSH levels in tumor cells, leading to efficient cancer therapy. The system combines H2O2 self-supply, GSH-elimination, and DOX-induced chemotherapy to effectively inhibit tumor growth with minimal side effects in vivo.

In situ growth of amino-functionalized ZIF-8 on bacterial cellulose foams for enhanced CO2 adsorption

Hong Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, bacterial cellulose was used as a substrate for the growth of amino-functionalized ZIF-8, resulting in BC foam with high CO2 adsorption capacity. The research provides a new avenue for constructing ZIF/cellulose composites for gas treatment applications.
